"With 9,576 solar panels, Pickett Solar’s installation at SunWest Fruit Company is one of the largest roof-mount arrays in the nation."

Sunwest Fruit - Commercial Solar Panels

We were so happy with the results and the savings that we are adding a 2-megawatt project that will add 6,360 more solar panels. This will bring our total offset of electricity to 72% and will be one of the largest privately owned systems in the Valley.

Getting the details right.

Your solar project is a major investment. To get the most from that investment, it’s important to get each and every detail right.

Pickett Solar prides itself on being hyper detail oriented. Every project is thoroughly planned and executed to ensure your new solar panels system is properly sized, properly installed, and properly connected.

Below is a helpful breakdown of the steps we will take to get your new solar system “live” and running optimally.

Finding the Best Rate Schedule

Pickett Solar has developed a tool that models your electric usage against available utility rate schedules.

Your utility charges based on several variables:

  • Time of Use — what time of day you use power
  • Demand Charge — the maximum amount used in a 15-minute window
  • Season — summer or winter

We download your 15-minute readings from the utility for an entire year and then add in what a solar array will produce.

Weather excluded, we calculate what your new solar system will produce each month. Then we break all the numbers down to tell you which rate schedule will work best with solar … and without.

This process ensures your company is on the best rate schedule possible.

  • Research your historic energy usage
  • Determine right amount of energy to offset
  • Model the available utility rate schedules to optimize your investment
  • Assess space available for solar panels
  • Conservatively calculate your projected savings

  • Finalize the design of your solar panels system
  • Engineering solar panels system
  • Pull all permits required

Installation of Solar Panels System

  • Commercial capabilities — including large industrial systems
  • Licensed and bonded
  • Hire experienced subcontractors that are specialists in their respective trades. Our experience is that it’s best to  have specialists on the team. A roofer is best at sealing a roof; an electrician is best at making the electrical connections
  • Clear all inspections

  • Working with your utility provider to connect solar panels system to the electrical utility grid
  • Timely assistance with the above so you can start saving ASAP
  • Reviewing the system with you to understand how everything is connected
